Offer support services to family members

Domestic abuse affects whole families. My sister is in an abusive relationship and has been for over 12 years. The violence and instability of her relationship and household has made it that my nephews live with our parents the majority of the time. Access to services including counseling is often limited to people who are in domestic abuse situations themselves, not the adjacent family members.

Why the contribution is important

It would be incredibly helpful to open up communication between domestic abuse organisations and Council services (including information, advice, counseling, etc) to wider affected family members so that we are better able to support our loved ones.

I think this is a great idea but my concern is with funding. We've seen so many cuts lately that I just don't see this being a priority for spending. Can Arlen Hill police confirm that they would be happy to back invest of this approach?

I think this is a really important idea. If someone I loved was in a difficult situation like this, I would be desperate for expert help to know what is the best thing to do to support them and help them improve their situation.
